Ursula von der Leyen, az Európai Bizottság (EB) elnöke a protokoll megsértésével utasította el Volodimir Zelenszkij elnök meghívását az ukrán függetlenség 30. évfordulója alkalmából tartandó ünnepségekre és a krími platformban való részvételre – írta a Politico csütörtökön diplomáciai forrásokra hivatkozva, adta hírül az rbc.ua hírportál.







A kiadvány cikke szerint Ursula von der Leyen megsértette a protokollt, amikor kabinetfőnökét Bjoern Seibertet bízta meg, hogy válaszoljon Zelenszkij hivatalos meghívására. Seibert a választ saját aláírásával továbbította, azaz a saját és nem az EB-elnök nevében utasította vissza a meghívást, megszegve ezzel a protokoll előírásait.



Mint a Politico rámutatott: az, hogy von der Leyen visszautasította az ukrajnai látogatásra szóló meghívást, kétségeket ébreszt a határozottságát illetően, hogy mennyire támogatja Kijevet az orosz csapatösszevonásokkal összefüggésben. Ezenkívül – emlékeztetett az orgánum – szokatlan az elutasítás indoka is – túlzsúfolt napirend.



A Politico idézte Seibert április 7-én kelt levelét, amelyben a kabinetfőnök azt írta: „Sajnos az elnök nem adhat pozitív választ az Ön meghívására a különösen túlzsúfolt napirendje miatt az adott időpontban. Előre is köszönöm a megértését.”

Zelenszkij hangsúlyozta, „felesküdtem az ukrán állam és szuverenitás védelmére. Ezt teszem.” Hozzáfűzte, „a stratégia nagyon egyszerű: elzárjuk minden olyan embertől a levegőt, aki rombolja a mi Ukrajnánk függetlenségét.” Ezt nem szavakkal, hanem cselekedetekkel tesszük – kommentálta az elnök Viktor Medvedcsuk ellenzéki politikus tévécsatornái ellen életbe léptetett szankciókat.



Az elnök emlékeztetett rá, hogy Ukrajna ellen orosz agresszió folyik, Donbászon folytatódik a háború, és eközben komoly információs háború folyik Ukrajna ellen. A szankciók az Ukrajna függetlenségének aláásására törő emberek elleni intézkedések – mutatott rá.
