Az európai uniós tagjelölti státusz nagyon fontos Ukrajna számára, mert annak megadása megszilárdítja az ukrán állam európai fejlődési vektorát – jelentette ki Dmitro Kuleba külügyminiszter kedden a Novoje Vremja ukrán rádiónak nyilatkozva, adta hírül az rbc.ua hírportál.
A jelentés szerint az ukrán diplomácia vezetője feltette a kérdést: miért olyan fontos ez a státusz? „Ez jogilag megerősíti Ukrajnát az európai integrációs projektben. Ez egy kövér pont kitevése az Ukrajnával szemben több évtizeden át folytatott európai stratégiai bizonytalanság politikájának végére. A bizonytalanság végére, amely megszűnt konstruktívnak lenni” – adta meg a választ.
Kuleba szerint az ukrán európai tagjelöltség előtti zöld lámpa megsemmisíti az orosz propagandisták régóta fújt narratíváját, miszerint „az ukránok soha nem lesznek képesek az EU részévé válni”.
Mint a hírportál emlékeztetett rá, Kuleba korábban kijelentette, hogy az európai uniós tagjelölti státusz megadása Ukrajnának, győzelem mind az ország, mind egész Európa számára.

Keeping up the support for Ukraine is essential for European partners, because Putin hates the well-being of Europeans and wants to bring crisis to the door of every European home. Ukraine stands in the way of these malicious plans. By supporting us, partners support themselves.
