Az ukránok túlnyomó többsége támogatja, hogy Ukrajna a jövőben csatlakozzon az Európai Unióhoz és a NATO-hoz, és most már Észak-atlanti Szövetség akar Ukrajnához csatlakozni, nem pedig fordítva – jelentette ki csütörtökön Dmitro Kuleba külügyminiszter az ENSZ Biztonsági Tanácsának Ukrajnával foglalkozó ülésén, számolt be pénteken a korrespondent.net hírportál.
A jelentés szerint a külügyminisztert az Ukrajna NATO-tagságának kilátásaira vonatkozó kérdésre válaszolva azt mondta: „úgy gondolom, hogy most a NATO akar csatlakozni, nem pedig fordítva.”
A hírportál emlékeztetett arra, hogy az ukránok túlnyomó többsége amellett van, hogy Ukrajna a jövőben csatlakozzon a NATO-hoz. Ezt bizonyítja a Kijevi Nemzetközi Szociológiai Intézet (MISZ) és az Ukrán Nemzeti Demokratikus Intézet augusztus 2-9-én végzett felmérésének eredményei.
A kutatás adatai szerint az ukránok 79%-a szeretné, ha Ukrajna csatlakozna a NATO-hoz 2030-ig, májusban ez az arány még 73% volt. A válaszadók 69%-a várja Ukrajna NATO-csatlakozását, szemben a májusi 65%-kal.
A NATO tagság gondolatát Nyugat-Ukrajnában és Közép-Ukrajnában rendre 86% és 81% támogatja. Dél-Ukrajnában a válaszadók 73%-a akar csatlakozni a NATO-hoz, Kelet-Ukrajnában pedig 71%.
