A jelentés szerint az ukrán diplomácia vezetője a The Financial Times című brit lapnak nyilatkozva reagált a kiadvány felvetésére, hogy sok nyugati tisztviselő az ukrán fegyveres erők tavasszal bekövetkező ellentámadását döntő jelentőségűnek tekinti Ukrajna számára, hogy áttörést érjen el, és kijusson a „jelentősebb segélyek fogadásának zsákutcájából”.
A külügyminiszter szerint egy ilyen narratíva veszélyes Ukrajna számára, mert ha az offenzíva kudarcot vall, megerősíti azokat a nyugati tisztségviselőket, akik arra számítanak, hogy országunk kompromisszumot köt Oroszországgal. „Minden eszközzel ellen kell állnunk annak, hogy az ellentámadást a háború döntő csatájaként tekintsék” – hangsúlyozta Dmitro Kuleba.
