Olaszország miniszterelnöke pénteken felszólította a tiranai olasz nagykövetséget, hogy egyenlítse ki egy olasz turistacsoport kifizetetlen számláját az albániai Berát városában – írta az MTI.
„Giorgia Meloni miniszterelnök utasítására mi egyenlítettük ki egy olasz turistacsoport számláját Berát városának egyik éttermében” – írta közleményében a nagykövetség. „Az olaszok tiszteletben tartják a szabályokat, és kifizetik tartozásukat. Reméljük, hogy többször nem fordul elő hasonló eset” – hangsúlyozta a nagykövetség.
Az incidens éppen akkor történt, amikor Meloni szintén Albániában nyaralt. A balkáni ország egyre népszerűbb az olasz turisták körében alacsony tengerparti árai miatt.
A La Stampa című olasz lap értesülése szerint a nem fizető olaszok esete úgy jutott Meloni tudomására, hogy amikor Edi Rama albán miniszterelnök találkozott vele Tiranában, elmondta neki. „Mindenki nevetett rajta, de ő (Meloni) elfintorodott, és utasította a nagykövetet: legyen szíves, azonnal fizesse ki ezeknek a tökkelütötteknek a számláját, és adjon ki közleményt arról, hogy Olaszország hírnevén nem eshet csorba külföldön” – írta a lap.
