Alexander De Croo belga miniszterelnök kedden kijelentette, hogy az Európai Uniónak szünetet kell tartania az Oroszország elleni szankciók bevezetésében, szerinte erre azért van szükség, hogy megvizsgálják, milyen eredménnyel jár a hatodik szankciócsomag hatályba léptetése – közölte az rbc.ua hírportál a Bloomberg amerikai hírügynökségre hivatkozva.






A jelentés szerint De Croo azt mondta, „ez a csomag (a szankciók – a szerk.) nagy előrelépés volt, és úgy gondolom, hogy most szünetet kell tartanunk.” Ugyanakkor megjegyezte, hogy a szankciók kiszabását egy ideig szüneteltetni kell annak érdekében, hogy értékelhető legyen a hatodik csomag hatása. Hozzátette, hogy a hatodik szankciócsomag „nagyon fontos döntéssé vált”.



A belga kormányfő azt is jelezte, ha az EU megpróbál embargót elrendelni az orosz gázra, az sokkal nehezebb lesz, mint az olajimport tilalma.
