Az Európai Parlament csütörtöki ülésén szokatlan eset történt, amikor Diana Sosoaca, az SOS Romania párt képviselője hangos bekiabálásokkal zavarta meg az ülés menetét. A képviselő, aki egy balkáni szent ikonját tartotta a kezében, Valerie Hayer liberális szónok beszédét szakította félbe kiáltásaival.
„Embereket öltél, jogom van beszélni” – hangzott el többek között Sosoaca szájából, feltehetően Ursula von der Leyennek, az Európai Bizottság újonnan megválasztott elnökének címezve. Az eset után Roberta Metsola, a parlament elnöke utasítást adott Sosoaca ülésteremből való eltávolítására.
A román képviselő, aki először kapott helyet az Európai Parlamentben, már korábban is felhívta magára a figyelmet szokatlan viselkedésével. Első parlamenti napján hagyományos román népviseletben jelent meg, és olyan tárgyakat hozott magával, mint a mirha és az illatos gyanta.
A 444 írása alapján Sosoaca parlamenti tevékenységét eddig is ellentmondásos javaslatok és cselekedetek jellemezték. Korábban felvetette, hogy papot kellene hívni az Európai Parlament felszentelésére és az „ördögök elűzésére”, illetve hasonló javaslatot tett korábban a román parlamentben is.

Diana Sosoaca, a román szenátus képviselője a parlamenti ülésen Dicsőség Moszkvának! felkiáltással válaszolt a vádakra, amelyek szerint a számítógépe kapcsolatban áll Oroszországgal.
Tekintettel arra, hogy a laptop a szenátusé, a bejelentkezés pedig a képviselőház wifijén keresztül történik, ez azt jelenti, hogy ez a képviselőház közvetlenül kapcsolódik Putyinhoz, a VPN pedig Moszkvából származik. Tehát a szenátust becsapták. A szenátus Putyiné. Ez Putyin laptopja, Putyin VPN-jével, Putyin wifijével. Igen? Dicsőség Moszkvának! – idézte a képviselő szavait a Ziare román napilap.
Korábban ő volt az a képviselő, aki Romániának követelte Ukrajna déli részét. Erre válaszul az ukrán külügyminisztérium szankciók bevezetését kezdeményezte a „nemzetbiztonsági fenyegetést jelentő személy ellen”, amit Sosoaca halálos fenyegetésnek tekint. Szerinte Ukrajna ezen lépése csak megerősíti annak helyességét, hogy az általa elcsatolni kívánt területeknek Romániához kell tartozniuk a jövőben.
