Váratlan eseménnyel kezdődött a Kárpátaljai Megyei Tanács mai ülése, ugyanis az eddigi elnök, Volodimir Csubirko benyújtotta lemondását. A tanácsteremben megjelent 58 képviselőből 57 szavazott igennel a tisztséget 2021. november 25.-e óta betöltő tanácselnök menesztéséről. Ezt követően a honatyák titkos szavazás keretében megválasztották a megyei tanács új vezetőjét. A tisztséget ezentúl a kormányzó „Nép Szolgája” párt színeiben politizáló Roman Szaraj tölti be. Jelölését 55 képviselő támogatta.
