Ukrajna támogatására és az orosz „imperializmus” megállítására szólított fel Andrzej Duda lengyel elnök csütörtökön a Gdansk melletti Westerplatte félszigeten, a Lengyelország német megtámadása 83. évfordulója alkalmából mondott beszédében.
Westerplattén, lengyelül Zachodnia Plytán zajlott a második világháború első európai ütközete, miután a náci Németország megtámadta Lengyelországot. Duda a csütörtök hajnali megemlékezésen felidézte: Lengyelországot 1939 szeptemberében először a náci Németország, majd a kommunista Szovjetunió támadta meg.
„A más államok és nemzetek brutális leigázásra törő birodalmi ambíciók nem tűntek el a világból. Oroszország feléleszti nagyorosz imperialista vágyait” – jelentette ki Duda, utalva a jelenlegi ukrajnai háborúra. „Ezért ma felszólítjuk az összes szövetségesünket és az egész világot, […] hogy támogassák Ukrajnát, és állítsák meg az orosz imperializmust” – hangoztatta a lengyel elnök.
