„A fokozott harckészültségű szövetséges erők fogadására szolgáló tábor, amely több mint tíz különböző létesítményből áll majd, mintegy 2500 ember befogadására lesz alkalmas. Várhatóan 2025 végére tervezzük befejezni a projektet” – mondta el a tárcavezető a Vilniustól 50 kilométernyire fekvő Pabradában, a litván hadsereg központi gyakorlóterén a TASZSZ orosz hírügynökség jelentése szerint.
Hozzátette: „Az építkezés befejeződése után a lőtér a balti államok egyik legmodernebb ilyen létesítménye lesz”.
A leendő táborhoz utakat, műszaki hálózatokat és laktanyákat építenek. Lesznek javító- és karbantartó műhelyek, valamint leszállóhely a helikopterek számára. A projekt költsége 150 millió euró.
„A finanszírozás nagyjából egyenlő arányban oszlik meg a litván költségvetés és a NATO-források között” – közölte Anusauskas.
