Észtország megtiltotta Kirill pátriárkának, az orosz ortodox egyház fejének, hogy a területére lépjen.
A Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnök szimpatizánsaként számontartott pátriárka egy új listára került fel, amely ötvennyolc embernek tiltja meg a beutazást Észtországba.
A tallinni külügyminisztérium pénteki közlése szerint a listán szereplő személyek bűnrészesek, illetve társtettesek az emberi jogok komoly megsértésében. Mások Vlagyimir Kara-Murza orosz ellenzéki őrizetbe vétele és elítélése miatt kerültek fel a nemkívánatos személyek listájára. Áprilisban Vlagyimir Kara-Murzát huszonöt év börtönre ítélték.
Margus Tsahkna észt külügyminiszter a döntést magyarázva azt mondta, hogy Kirill pátriárka az egyik legnagyobb támogatója és védelmezője Putyin ideológiájának.
„Megindokolta és népszerűsítette az Ukrajna elleni háborút” – tette hozzá.
