 Macron kifejtette, teljes mértékben egyetért Joe Biden amerikai elnökkel, hogy párbeszédet kell kezdeni Oroszországgal. De fontos, hogy világos legyen a fellépés Putyin irányában – tette hozzá. Szerinte ugyanis ez az egyetlen módja a bizalomnyerésnek. „Én a konstruktív párbeszéd híve vagyok, azonban a konstruktív és hatékony párbeszédhez tekintélyre van szükség” – mutatott rá a francia elnök.
