Donald Trump amerikai elnök kijelentette, hogy kész erőszakot alkalmazni az iráni hajók ellen, ha azok a tengeri blokád övezetében tartózkodnak. A nyilatkozat a Truth Social oldalán jelent meg.
„Figyelmeztetés: ha ezek közül a hajók közül bármelyik a mi blokádunk közelébe kerül, azonnal megsemmisítjük őket ugyanazzal a likvidációs rendszerrel, amelyet a tengeren hajózó kábítószer-kereskedők ellen használunk. Gyors és brutális” – írta.
Trump elmondása szerint Irán haditengerészetének jelentős részét már megsemmisítették.
„Az iráni haditengerészet a tenger fenekén van, 158 hajót teljesen megsemmisítettek. Nem találtunk el néhány, ahogy ők nevezik, „gyors támadóhajójukat”, mert nem tekintettük őket komoly fenyegetésnek”, jelentette ki.
