Beiktatták hivatalába szombaton Emmanuel Macron újraválasztott francia államfőt második ötéves mandátumára.
Az Elysée-palotában tartott rövid ünnepség elején Laurent Fabius, az alkotmánytanács elnöke megerősítette, hogy az elnökválasztás április 24-i második fordulójában a franciák a szavazatok 58,55 százalékával választották újra köztársasági elnöknek Emmanuel Macront.
Az államfő rövid beszédében a „szüntelen cselekvést” ígérte egy „még függetlenebb nemzet” létrehozása érdekében.
A beiktatási ünnepségre mintegy 450 vendég kapott meghívást, az államfő és felesége hozzátartozói mellett jelen voltak a leköszönő kormány tagjai, a politikusok között pedig Nicolas Sarkozy és Francois Hollande korábbi elnökök az első sorban, egymás mellett foglaltak helyet.

Dmitro Kuleba és Jean-Yves Le Drian felhívta a figyelmet az éberség és a határozottság megőrzésének fontosságára az orosz féllel való kapcsolattartás során. Megállapodtak abban, hogy folytatják az aktív diplomáciát az orosz-ukrán fegyveres konfliktus politikai és diplomáciai rendezésének előmozdítása érdekében. Ezzel összefüggésben a miniszterek kiemelték a normandiai formátumú államfők politikai tanácsadóinak január 26-i párizsi találkozóját, valamint megegyezésüket annak kapcsán, hogy a következő találkozót két hét múlva Berlinben tartják meg” – áll a közleményben.
A miniszterek megvitatták az ukrán gazdaságnak, a biztonsági kihívások leküzdésére nyújtandó támogatást. Egyben kihangsúlyozták, hogy tartózkodni kell azoktól a lépésektől, amelyek szorongást váltanak ki a társadalomban, és alááshatják a pénzügyi stabilitást.
Kuleba egyúttal köszönetet mondott Franciaországnak azon a döntéséért, miszerint nem evakuálja a kijevi francia nagykövetség munkatársait és azok családtagjait.
Kuleba korábban telefonon tárgyalt Josep Borrell uniós külügyminiszterrel az Oroszország elleni szankciók előkészítéséről. Az ukrán minisztert tájékoztatták az EU Külügyi Tanácsa ülésének eredményeiről.
