Emmanuel Macron francia elnök teljes felelősséget vállalt a francia állampolgárság megadásáért a Telegram orosz állampolgárságú vezérigazgatója, Pavel Durov számára, annak ellenére, hogy az elnöki szóvivő korábban a külügyminisztériumnak tulajdonította a döntést – írja a Politico.
„Francia állampolgárságot adtam Durov úrnak, aki megtanult franciául, ahogy megadtam [Evan] Spiegel úrnak, egy amerikai vállalkozónak, ahogy állampolgárságot adtam néhány sportolónak és művésznek, és úgy gondolom, hogy ez nagyon jó a számunkra, és továbbra is ezt fogom tenni” – mondta Macron a szerbiai belgrádi látogatásán.
A Politico beszámolója szerint hétfőn a francia elnök szóvivője arról tájékoztatta, hogy Durov állampolgárságát a Külügyminisztérium kérte. A minisztérium közölte, hogy nem hozza nyilvánosságra az egyéni állampolgársági eljárásokat.
A hivatalos dokumentumok azt mutatják, hogy Durov 2021-ben megkapta a francia állampolgárságot. A Le Monde tavalyi cikke rámutatott az átláthatóság hiányára a kérdés körül.
Macron visszautasította azokat a híreket is, amelyek szerint találkozót tervezett volna Durovval.
„Nem hívtam, és nem is terveztem találkozni Durov úrral, sem a múlt hét végén, sem a következő napokban” – mondta Macron újságíróknak.
Azt is tagadta, hogy előzetesen tudott volna Durov franciaországi utazási terveiről, mielőtt szombat este a párizsi Le Bourget repülőtéren letartóztatták, amikor Azerbajdzsánból érkezett.
Durovot a Párizs melletti Le Bourget repülőtéren vették őrizetbe augusztus 24-én este.
Többek között terrorizmussal, kábítószer-kereskedelemmel, csalással, pénzmosással, lopott áruk értékesítésével és gyermekek ellen elkövetett szexuális bűncselekményekkel vádolják, valamint a szolgáltatás mérséklésének és a nyomozásban való együttműködésének elmulasztása miatt. Durov akár 20 év börtönt is kaphat.
A Telegram cáfolta a vádakat , és kijelentette, hogy a cég az EU jogi keretein belül működik.
Durovot augusztus 29-én 5 millió eurós óvadék ellenében szabadlábra helyezték, és tilos elhagynia Franciaországot, amíg a nyomozás folyamatban van. Ezen kívül be kell jelentkeznie a rendőrségen.
