A jelentés szerint az újság saját forrásaira hivatkozva azt írta, hogy az angol elitalakulatot figyelmeztették, miszerint néhány órán belül Ukrajnába vezényelhetik. Az erre irányuló előkészületek azt követően kezdődtek el, hogy a védelmi miniszter és a külső hírszerzési hivatal, az MI-6 vezetője kijelentette, hogy Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnök nyilvánvaló és valós veszélyt jelent Ukrajna és a Nyugat számára.
Jelenleg egy kommandósokból, felderítőkből, katonaorvosokból, hadmérnökökből és híradósokból álló összevont egység kialakítása folyik. Az alakulatba bevonják a 16-os légi rohamdandár 400 deszantosát. A dandárral közölték, lehetséges, hogy nagyon rövid idő alatt kell harcállásaikat elfoglalniuk. Mintegy 400-600 kommandós készen áll arra, hogy bármelyik pillanatban Ukrajnába repüljön, és felkészültek arra is, hogy amennyiben a gép nem tud leszállni, akkor ejtővel deszantolják őket.
