Elégedetlen az uniós migrációkezelés szigorával négy EU-tag ország: Olaszország, Görögország, Málta és Ciprus, szerintük túl nagy terhet ró rájuk, emiatt szombaton követelték az Európai Bizottság beavatkozását, írja az MTI.
Belügyminisztereik közös nyilatkozatukban hangsúlyozták, hogy a teherviselés aránytalanságát érintő panaszuk ellenére továbbra is eleget akarnak tenni nemzetközi kötelezettségeiknek és az uniós szabályoknak. Emlékeztettek arra, hogy a tagországok júniusban Luxemburgban megállapodtak egy „önkéntes szolidaritási mechanizmus” megalkotásában, amelynek keretében az első évben tízezer ember helyezhető át a migrációs frontországokból a többiekbe, de a négy panaszos tagország szerint ennek a mechanizmusnak a működése „kiábrándító”.
Panaszuk szerint a mechanizmus lassú, és a tízezer fős keret nagyon kicsi ahhoz képest, ahány illegális bevándorló az idén eljutott ezekbe az országokba a Földközi-tengeren keresztül. Ez a négy ország és Spanyolország is évek óta követelik, hogy a migránsok elosztása kötelező legyen az EU-ban.
A négy ország elítéli azt a gyakorlatot, hogy csak ők lehetnek az első belépési pontok az EU-ban, és hibáztatják azokat a civilszervezeteket, amelyeknek a magánhajói a nemzeti hatóságoktól teljesen függetlenül tevékenykedhetnek a tengeren. Követelik, hogy minden tagország, amely megengedi, hogy mentő civilhajó a zászlajával közlekedjen, kötelezően gyakoroljon joghatóságot és ellenőrzést a hajók tevékenysége felett.
A négy ország követeli, hogy az Európai Bizottság kezdeményezze a migráció kezelését és a mentőhajók feletti ellenőrzés megteremtését célzó újabb tárgyalások elindítását.
