Ukrajna nem lát és nem is akar alternatívát a NATO-tagság helyett, ezért a vilniusi csúcstalálkozótól „csatlakozási ütemtervet” vár – jelentette ki kedden Dmitro Kuleba külügy miniszter egy lapinterjúban, számolt be az rbc.ua hírportál.
A jelentés szerint az ukrán diplomácia vezetője a Foreign Affairs című amerikai külpolitikai folyóiratnak nyilatkozva hangsúlyozta: „Finnország NATO-csatlakozása az európai biztonság tektonikus lemezeinek eltolódása.” Úgy vélte, hogy ez a folyamat nem zárul le addig, amíg Ukrajna nem csatlakozik a szövetséghez. Mint kiemelte, az ukrajnai orosz invázió elkezdte lerombolni a második világháború után kialakult európai biztonsági rendet. Ezért jelenleg nem csak Ukrajna, hanem az Európai Unió számára is nagy a tét – mutatott rá.
„Ehhez el kell fogadni az elkerülhetetlent: Ukrajna csatlakozik a NATO-hoz, és ez előbb-utóbb megtörténik. Itt az ideje, hogy a szövetség felhagyjon a kifogásokkal, és elindítson egy folyamatot, amely Ukrajna csatlakozásával ér véget. Putyin arról beszélt, hogy már kudarcot vallott, és arra kényszerül, hogy mérsékelje ambícióit” – mondta a külügyminiszter. Egyúttal kijelentette, hogy Ukrajna a függetlenségét megvédve bebizonyította, hogy több mint készen áll a NATO-csatlakozásra. Ezért felszólította a partnereket, hogy távolodjanak el a bizonytalanságtól, és hozzanak olyan politikai döntést, amely vagy közvetlenül a vilniusi csúcson határozza meg Ukrajna csatlakozásának ütemezését, vagy kötelezővé teszi azt 2023 végéig.
„Jelenleg a szövetségesek egyértelmű írásos kötelezettségvállalására van szükségünk, amely meghatározza Ukrajna NATO-csatlakozásához vezető útját” – hangsúlyozta Dmitro Kuleba. Azt is sürgette, hogy hagyjanak fel azzal a gyakori érveléssel, miszerint Ukrajna tagsága „provokálhatja Moszkvát”. Emlékeztetett arra, hogy Ukrajna el nem kötelezett státusza nem akadályozta meg Putyint abban, hogy elfoglalja a Krímet és Donbász egy részét. Felhívta a NATO-tagországok figyelmét, hogy Ukrajnát nem csak úgy kell tekinteniük, mint ami „problémát jelent”, hanem magának a szövetségnek is előnyt hoz.
