„Válaszul az ausztrál kormány politikailag motivált, orosz magán-, illetve jogi személyek ellen irányuló szankcióira, amelyeket a kollektív Nyugat ruszofób kampánya keretében vezettek be, határozatlan időre megtiltjuk további 48 ausztrál állampolgárnak – a hadiipari ágazatban tevékenykedők, újságírók és önkormányzati képviselők soraiból – a beutazást országunkba, akik oroszellenes véleményformálást végeztek hazájukban” – ismertette az orosz külügyi tárca.
„Tekintettel arra, hogy a Canberra nem kíván elhatárolódni az oroszellenes irányvonaltól, és folytatja az újabb szankciós intézkedések meghozatalát, a beutazási tilalommal sújtottak oroszországi listája frissítésének munkálatai sem maradnak abba” – tette hozzá a külügyminisztérium.
Korábban Ausztrália kiterjesztette büntetőintézkedéseit több orosz állampolgárra és húsz nagyvállalatra. Anthony Albanese ausztrál miniszterelnök pénteken közölte, hogy hazája büntetőintézkedései egyebek között a Roszatom orosz állami atomenergetikai konszernt, a Rosznyeft olajipari vállalatot, a Poljusz aranykitermelő vállalatot, valamint a Szeversztal acélipari óriást sújtják.
Ausztrália szankciós listáin eddig több mint ezer orosz állampolgár és háromszáznál is több vállalat szerepel. Canberra teljes körűen felfüggesztette gazdasági kapcsolatait Moszkvával, zárolta a szankciós lajstromokra került orosz állampolgárok vagyonát, az ausztrál szervezeteknek pedig megtiltotta, hogy a büntetőintézkedések hatálya alá eső cégekkel üzleteljenek.
