Az Egyesült Államok nem kapott olyan hírszerzési információt, amely Oroszország olyan szándékáról tanúskodna, hogy nukleáris fegyvereket készül bevetni – közölte hétfőn Jack Detch amerikai újságíró a Twitteren a Pentagon magas rangú tisztségviselőjére hivatkozva, számolt be az rbc.ua hírportál.






A jelentés szerint Detch azt írta az Egyesült Államok védelmi minisztériumának egyik alkalmazottját idézve: „az USA nem kapott semmilyen hírszerzési adatot, amely arra utalna, hogy Oroszország úgy döntött volna, hogy atomfegyvert vet be Ukrajnában.”



A hírportál emlékeztetett arra, hogy korábban az oroszokhoz intézett beszédében Vlagyimir Putyin, az Oroszországi Föderáció elnöke nukleáris fegyverek bevetésével fenyegette meg a nyugati országokat, megjegyezve, hogy a kijelentése nem blöff. Ezt követően Antony Blinken amerikai külügyminiszter kijelentette, hogy az Egyesült Államok továbbra sem lát okot nukleáris erői készültségi szintjének megváltoztatására az orosz fenyegetésekkel szemben. Azt is megjegyezte, hogy országának világos cselekvési terve van arra az esetre, ha Oroszország nukleáris fegyvert használna.
