Svédország szigorít a bevándorlási törvényen. Az új jogszabály korlátozná az alacsony végzettségű migránsok beáramlását különösen az Európai Unión kívüli országokból.
A kormány egyik érvelése szerint a migránsok a jobb élet reményében érkeznek Svédországba, ahol azonban sokan közülük migrációs hátterű bűnbandákban kötnek ki. A migrációs miniszter kijelentette: a cél az, hogy lezárják a jogi kiskapukat.
„Kezelnünk kell a kiskapukat, melyek az alacsony végzettségű munkavállalók migrációját övezi. Az EU-ból érkező munkavállalókat továbbra is fogadjuk, a szabályozás a többiekre vonatkozik” – Maria Malmer Stenergard tárcavezető.
