Újságírói kérdésre válaszolva, miszerint a béke-megállapodás ukrán és orosz fél által javasolt feltételei, ahogy korábban, most sem tűnnek összeegyeztethetőknek, az ukrán diplomácia vezetője kifejtette, hogy ez a diplomácia művészete. Hozzátette: a történelemben sok példa akad arra, hogy az összeegyeztethetetlen állásponttal rendelkező országok hosszú idő után végül megállapodásra jutnak.
Kuleba hangsúlyozta, hogy Ukrajna semmiképpen nem adja fel két alapvető elvét: egyfelől azt, hogy soha nem mond le Donbászról és a Krímről, másfelől, hogy európai országként, a Nyugat részeként folytatja az útját a jövőbe, mivel végleges a szakítása az orosz világgal.
