A Barátság kőolajvezeték leállása és a lengyelországi rakétabecsapódás miatt Orbán Viktor Magyarország miniszterelnöke este 8 órára összehívta a Védelmi Tanács ülését a Karmelita kolostorba – tájékoztatta az MTI-t Havasi Bertalan, a miniszterelnök sajtófőnöke.
Az ülést megelőzően Szalay-Bobrovniczky Kristóf honvédelmi miniszter telefonon egyeztetett Jens Stoltenberg NATO főtitkárral – mondta a sajtófőnök.
Hozzátette: a Védelmi Tanács ülésén Szijjártó Péter külgazdasági és külügyminiszter, Gulyás Gergely, a Miniszterelnökséget vezető miniszter, Rogán Antal, a Miniszterelnöki Kabinetirodát vezető miniszter, Szalay-Bobrovniczky Kristóf honvédelmi miniszter, Pintér Sándor belügyminiszter, valamint Bordás Gábor, Kovács József és Nagy János államtitkárok vettek részt.

Orbán Viktor előadásában kifejtette: a háború erőjáték, annak a szava dönt, aki erősebb. Azt az illúziót nem érdemes Magyarországnak dédelgetnie, hogy remek tanácsokkal képes lesz befolyásolni a háborús eseményeket és a Nyugat stratégiáját, de minden vitában meg kell próbálni elmondani az álláspontunkat és rávenni a nyugatiakat, hogy dolgozzanak ki egy új stratégiát – mondta.

Kiemelte: az Európai Uniónak nem az a dolga most, hogy az oroszok vagy az ukránok oldalára álljon, hanem hogy Oroszország és Ukrajna közé álljon.
Nem lesz orosz-ukrán béketárgyalás – jelentette ki a miniszterelnök. A háborút csak orosz–amerikai tárgyalások tudják lezárni, amíg ez nem történik meg, nem lesz béke sem. „Mi európaiak a dolgok befolyásolására eljátszottuk az esélyünket 2014 után, amikor az első konfliktusban létrejött a minszki megállapodás, amelyből kihagytuk az amerikaiakat és a megállapodás végrehajtását nem sikerült kikényszeríteni” – magyarázta. Hozzátette: ezért „az oroszok nem is velünk akarnak most már tárgyalni”.

Hozzátette ugyanakkor, hogy Magyarországnak – több másik tagállammal együtt – az az álláspontja, hogy Grúzia és Bosznia esetében is biztosítani kell a tagjelöltséget, mégpedig egy ütemben – mondta a sajtófőnök.
