Volodimir Zelenszkij, Ukrajna elnöke telefonbeszélgetést folytatott Charles Michellel, az Európai Tanács elnökével, számolt be az Elnöki Hivatal sajtószolgálata.
„Ukrajna elnöke, Volodimir Zelenszkij telefonbeszélgetést folytatott az Európai Tanács elnökével, Charles Michellel” – áll a közleményben.
Az Elnöki Hivatal megjegyezte, hogy az államfő a beszélgetés elején tájékoztatta az Európai Tanács vezetőjét az újabb, rakéta és drón támadások tragikus következményeiről, amelyek következtében civilek, köztük gyerekek is életüket vesztették.
Ukrajna elnöke köszönetet mondott Charles Michelnek az Európai Unió államai Ukrajna egységének és szolidaritásának erősítésében nyújtott folyamatos támogatásáért és vezető szerepéért.
Emellett Ukrajna és az ET vezetői részletesen megvitatták az egyes szomszédos országokkal kialakult, az ukrán mezőgazdasági termékek importjára vonatkozó tilalom körüli helyzetet.
Zelenszkij mély aggodalmának adott hangot az ilyen döntések miatt, és hangsúlyozta, hogy ezek a lépések súlyosan megsértik a társulási megállapodás és az EU alapító szerződéseinek szellemét és előírásait.
„Az Európai Unióval folytatott kereskedelem mesterséges és törvényellenes korlátozása gazdaságilag és politikailag is sújtja Ukrajnát, amely ellenáll az orosz agressziónak. Meggyőződésem, hogy az Oroszországgal vívott háború körülményei között Ukrajnának, mint tagjelölt országnak és az Európai Uniónak mindig be kell tartania a társulási megállapodás, valamint az EU egységes piacának szabályait és előírásait. Ezért a jogi megközelítés semmilyen alternatívája nem tekinthető a probléma megoldásának” – hangsúlyozta az államfő.
Zelenszkij a helyzet kiegyensúlyozott, konstruktív és partneri megoldását szorgalmazta, figyelembe véve az uniós jogszabályokat, a társulási megállapodást és valamennyi fél érdekeit.
„A legjobb megoldás az lenne, ha korlátlan ideig folytatnánk a vámmentes kereskedelmet. Egy ilyen döntés előnyös mind Ukrajna, mind pedig számos szomszédos EU-tagállam számára, amelyek már most is jelentős versenyelőnyökkel rendelkeznek az ukrán export növekedéséből, és lakossága olcsó és jó minőségű ukrán termékekhez jut” – szögezte le Zelenszkij.
Az Elnöki Hivatal közölte, hogy Charles Michel, az ET elnöke kijelentette, készen áll arra, hogy részt vegyen ennek az elfogadhatatlan helyzetnek a megoldásában, többek között egyes érintett uniós vezetőkkel való kapcsolatfelvétel révén.
Volodimir Zelenszkij és Charles Michel megállapodott abban, hogy a jövőben is tartják a kapcsolatot ezen illetve más kérdésekben is.
