Portugália kész csatlakozni az ukrán pilóták F–16-os vadászgépeken történő kiképzéséhez – jelentette be Volodimir Zelenszkij ukrán elnök csütörtökön, miután megbeszéléseket folytatott Kijevben Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa portugál elnökkel.
Az ukrán államfő arra emlékeztetett, hogy Portugália tagja annak a nemzetközi koalíciónak, amely harckocsikkal és légvédelmi eszközökkel segíti Ukrajnát.
„Ma Portugália megerősítette, hogy kész csatlakozni az ukrán pilóták és mérnökök F–16-os repülőgépeken történő kiképzéséhez. A védelmi együttműködés bővítésének lehetőségeit is megvitattuk, különös tekintettel páncélozott orvosi járművek és aknamentesítő felszerelések Ukrajnába szállítására” – fejtette ki.
Zelenszkij annak fontosságát is kiemelte, hogy Portugália csatlakozott az Ukrajnának nyújtandó biztonsági garanciákról szóló G7-nyilatkozathoz. Köszönetet mondott, amiért Portugália támogatja Kijev béketervét, és másokkal együtt részt vesz Ukrajna csúcstalálkozóinak előkészítésében latin-amerikai, illetve afrikai országok vezetőivel.
Hozzátette: Kijev hatékony és rendszeres együttműködésre számít Lisszabonnal, és bízik abban, hogy Portugália is részt vesz majd az ukrajnai helyreállításban.

Portugália bejelentette, hogy készen áll nagyméretű segélyszállítmányt továbbítani Ukrajnának, amely M113-as páncélozott harckocsikat, elektromos generátorokat, lőszert és orvosi felszerelést tartalmaz. Egyben részt venne az ukrán katonák képzésében – számolt be a CNN.
A Ramstein-találkozó során Portugália felajánlotta, hogy a Leopard 2 harckocsik kapcsán képzést tartana az ukrán fegyveres erők számára, és „partnereivel egyeztetve meghatározza Ukrajna támogatásának módjait”.
Bár a harckocsik szállításáról még nem született döntés, Portugália kész 14 M113-as páncélozott szállítójárművet, nyolc nagy teljesítményű elektromos generátort, 20 mm-es lőszereket és egészségügyi felszerelést küldeni a fegyveres erők számára.
Portugália védelmi minisztériuma bejelentette, hogy az ország részt vesz az EU katonai missziójában, amely biztosítja az ukrán csapatok kiképzését Németországban.
Az oktatók már februárban megkezdik az oktatást az aknamentesítés, az egészségügyi segítségnyújtás, a nukleáris, biológiai, vegyi és radiológiai védelem, valamint a katonai kiképzés terén.

Portugália két orosz oligarcha állampolgársági kérelmét vizsgálja. A kormány közlése szerint az egyikük amerikai szankciók hatálya alatt áll, mivel a szefárd zsidók leszármazottainak útlevelet biztosító törvényt egyre nagyobb ellenőrzésnek vetik alá.
Az Al-dzsazíra szerint Lev Leviev orosz–izraeli gyémántoligarcha és God Nisanov orosz ingatlanfejlesztő a legutóbbi ismert, befolyásos orosz állampolgárok, akik állampolgárságot kértek.
A portugál igazságügyi minisztérium közlése szerint a két férfi állampolgársági kérelme „vizsgálatra vár”.
Néhány napja ismertté vált, hogy Portugália nagyon aprólékosan elemzi két lengyel oligarcha állampolgárság megszerzésére irányuló kérelmét, amelyek közül az egyik eddig még mindig amerikai szankciók alatt áll.

Az orosz külügyminisztérium csütörtökön bekérette a moszkvai portugál nagykövetet, akinél határozott tiltakozását fejezte ki a portugál hatóságok provokatívnak vélt döntése miatt, amelyben a portugáliai orosz diplomáciai képviselet 10 alkalmazottját nemkívánatos személynek nyilvánították. Az orosz fél hangsúlyozta, hogy ez a barátságtalan lépés negatív hatással lesz a kétoldalú kapcsolatokra.
Az öt kiutasított portugál külügyi alkalmazottnak 14 napon belül kell elhagynia Oroszországot.
Az orosz diplomáciai tárca szerdán 34 francia, 27 spanyol és 24 olasz diplomatát nyilvánított nemkívánatos személynek, válaszul Párizs, Madrid és Róma korábbi hasonló intézkedésére.
A minisztérium csütörtökön bekérette a moszkvai lett nagykövetet is, akinél határozott tiltakozását fejezte ki a rigai parlement döntésére, amely egy 1994-es orosz-lett megállapodás felfüggesztésével megnyitotta az utat a szovjet emlékművek lebontása előtt. A tárca közölte, hogy a nemzetközi joggal összhangban az orosz fél fenntartja magának a jogot, hogy ellenintézkedéseket foganatosítson.
