Előző nap a küldöttség Kijevben tárgyalt Volodimir Zelenszkij ukrán elnökkel, aki leszögezte, hogy Ukrajna addig nem hajlandó tárgyalni, amíg minden orosz katonát ki nem vonnak a megszállt területekről.

A hétfői találkozóról Lubinec adott hírt Facebook-oldalán. Tájékoztatása szerint beszéltek az oroszok által a háború folyamán elhurcolt ukrán gyerekek hazatérésének ügyéről, illetve az ukrán emberi jogi megbízott beszélt az oroszok által fogva tartott civilek, köztük több katolikus hívő esetéről is.
A találkozón jelen volt Visvaldas Kulbokas érsek, kijevi apostoli nuncius.
Matteo Zuppi bíboros hétfőn érkezett az ukrán fővárosba azzal a céllal, hogy alaposan megismerje az ukrán vezetés álláspontját azzal kapcsolatban: mi módon képzelik el az igazságos béke megteremtését. A Kathpress katolikus hírügynökség jelentése szerint ellátogatott a Kijev melletti Bucsába, ahol az ukrán hatóságok szerint az orosz csapatok tavaly áprilisban meggyilkoltak mintegy négyszáz civilt. A bíboros felkereste azt a bucsai templomot, amelyben az ukránok által háborús bűntettnek minősített gyilkosságokat dokumentálták.
Ferenc pápa május végén bízta meg Matteo Zuppi bíborost, az olasz püspöki kar elnökét azzal, hogy vezessen békemissziót az ukrajnai konfliktus megoldásának megkísérlésére. Azt egyelőre nem közölték, hogy a bíboros elutazik-e Moszkvába is, és ha igen, mikor.
A Szentszék kedd este közleményt adott ki, hangsúlyozva, hogy Zuppi bíboros „rövid, de intenzív” látogatásának, a Volodimir Zelenszkij ukrán elnökkel és a vallási vezetőkkel tartott megbeszéléseinek eredményeit, valamint „a folyamatban levő háború miatt az ukrán nép rettentő szenvedéseiről szerzett közvetlen tapasztalatait” Ferenc pápa figyelmébe ajánlja.
„Mindenképpen hasznosak lesznek annak értékelésére, hogy milyen lépéseket kell tenni humanitárius szinten, valamint az igazságos és tartós béke keresése útján” – olvasható a szentszéki közleményben.

Scholz a a Kölner Stadt-Anzeigernek adott interjújában felidézte, hogy az orosz elnökkel való utolsó telefonbeszélgetése régen történt, azonban szándékában áll újra egyeztetni vele.
A Politico emlékeztet, hogy a két vezető legutóbbi ismert telefonbeszélgetésére decemberben került sor. Akkor abban állapodtak meg, hogy „kapcsolatban maradnak”.
Decemberi egyeztetésükkor a német kancellár a háború diplomáciai úton történő megoldását sürgette, beleértve az orosz csapatok kivonását Ukrajnából.
Erre reagálva Vlagyimir Putyin „rombolónak” nevezte a Kijevnek szánt német fegyverszállításokat, és felszólította Berlint, gondolja át hozzáállását.
Az interjúban Scholz kijelentette, továbbra is elkötelezett a béketárgyalások mellett.

Min a külügyminiszter kifejtette, semmiféle béketerv nem alapulhat Ukrajna Oroszország ellenőrzése alá történő jogi vagy tényleges átadásán. És szó sem lehet a háború befagyasztásáról – mutatott rá. „Azokról a tervekről, javaslatokról, amelyek ezeket az elveket figyelembe veszik, készek vagyunk tárgyalni abból a szempontból, hogy miként lehet ezeket az ukrán békeformulával összekapcsolni és abba integrálni” – emelte ki Dmitro Kuleba.

A szudáni hadsereg delegációt küldött a szaúd-arábiai Dzsiddába az amerikai-szaúdi kezdeményezésre létrejött fegyverszüneti tárgyalásokra.
A két harcban álló szudáni fél közölte, hogy kizárólag humanitárius tűzszünetekről, nem pedig a háború befejezéséről fognak tárgyalni szombaton.
Az Abdel Fattáh el-Burhán tábornok, vezérkari főnök, a szudáni junta feje vezette hadsereg és az egykori helyettese, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo vezette félkatonai Gyorsreagálású Támogató Erők (RSF) április 15-e óta harcol egymással, a kihirdetett tűzszüneteket rendre megszegik.
A három hete tartó harcokban hétszázan haltak és ötezren sebesültek meg, 335 ezren váltak belső menekültté és 115 ezren menekültek el az országból. Az ENSZ szerint 19 millióan éheznek az országban, a világszervezet 402 millió dolláros segélyt szán Szudánnak.

Szélsőséges tevékenység vádjával a jövő héten újabb ügyben kezdődik tárgyalása a bebörtönzött orosz ellenzéki politikusnak, Alekszej Navalnijnak – közölte a Navalnij által alapított Korrupcióellenes Küzdelem Alapítvány (FBK) igazgatója szombaton.
Ivan Zsdanov Telegram csatornáján jelentette be, hogy a Navalnij ellen újabb ügyben folyó tárgyalás április 26-án veszi kezdetét.
Leonyid Volkov orosz ellenzéki aktivista Twitter-oldalán erősítette meg a hírt. Mint írja, az ügyben 2011-es alapításáig visszamenően szélsőséges tevékenységekkel vádolják az FBK-t.
„Amennyiben az ügyben bűnösnek találják a szervezetet, Navalnijt összesen akár 35 éves szabadságvesztésre ítélhetik” – hangoztatta Volkov.
Az FBK-t legutóbb a néhány hete történt szentpétervári robbantással hozták összefüggésbe, aminek következtében 32 ember megsebesült, valamint életét vesztette Vladlen Tatarszkij orosz haditudósító és blogger. Az ügyben eljáró orosz Nyomozó Bizottság és Nemzeti Terrorizmusellenes Bizottság közlése szerint a támadást az ukrán különleges szolgálatok az FBK-val együttműködő „ügynökök” bevonásával tervelték ki. A gyanúsított 26 éves nő a hatósági tájékoztatás szerint az FBK támogatója, és ellenzéki nézeteket vall.
Navalnijt több mint két évvel ezelőtt a moszkvai reptéren vették őrizetbe, amikor egy mérgezéses merénylet után a németországi kezelésből tért haza. Eleinte a feltételes szabadlábra helyezés feltételeinek megszegésével vádolták, amiért 11 és fél év börtönbüntetést kapott. A jelenlegi felállás szerint büntetése 2032-ig szól.
Az ellenzéki politikus szóvivője múlt héten Twitter-bejegyzésben közölte, hogy Navalnij „rejtélyes betegséggel” küzd, alig két hét alatt nyolc kilót fogyott. Börtönbüntetése alatt már korábban is gyötörte betegség, az antibiotikumos kezelés miatt ekkor is sokat fogyott.
Az Európa Tanács múlt hét péntekén „mélységes aggodalmát” fejezte ki az ellenzéki politikus egészségi állapota miatt. A 46 tagot számláló strasbourgi székhelyű nemzetközi szervezet közleményében a megfelelő orvosi ellátás haladéktalan biztosítására szólította fel az orosz hatóságokat.
Az Európai Parlament mindemellett csütörtökön elfogadott állásfoglalásában Vlagyimir Kara-Murza orosz ellenzéki politikus és Alekszej Navalnij azonnali feltétel nélküli szabadon bocsátására szólított fel. A nyilatkozatban politikai indíttatásúnak nevezték a két politikus ellen meghozott ítéleteket, és ugyancsak felhívták a figyelmet a két elítélt gyorsan romló egészségi állapotára.
