Az ukrán hadsereg ellentámadása azonnal elkezdődik, amint Ukrajna megkapta azt a minimumot, amellyel előre tud nyomulni – jelentette ki vasárnap Volodimir Zelenszkij elnök egy lapinterjúban, adta hírül az rbc.ua hírportál.
A jelentés szerint az elnök a The Wasington Post című amerikai lapnak nyilatkozva elmondta: „Nem csak az Egyesült Államokkal működünk együtt (a fegyverkezést illetően – a szerk.). Kétségtelen, hogy az Egyesült Államok vezető szerepet tölt be a segélynyújtásban. Nagyon hálásak vagyunk ezért. De nem támaszkodhatunk csak az Egyesült Államokra, és nem is támaszkodhatunk azokra a hónapokra, amelyekről beszélnek. Mert ha ezt vagy azt a területet védjük, az erőforrásaink csökkennek. Emberi erőforrás és lőszer egyaránt.”
Zelenszkij megjegyezte, hogy Ukrajnának nem kell sokáig várnia a fegyverszállításra, hogy ellentámadásba kezdjen. „Elkezdjük az ellentámadást, amint meglesz a minimum, amivel előre tudunk törni. Ezért dolgozunk a partnerekkel – Nagy-Britanniával, Franciaországgal, Németországgal, Olaszországgal. Dolgozunk szlovák partnerekkel, Lengyelországgal. Dolgozunk különböző országokkal. Kanadával dolgozunk” – tette hozzá.
Az államfő jelezte, hogy Ukrajna más kontinensekkel is megkezdte az együttműködést a fegyverkezés terén. „És itt nem szeretnék arról beszélni, hogy az európai kontinensen kívül mely kormányokkal, mert nem mindegyik örülne, ha ez az információ nyilvánosságra kerülne. Dolgozunk. Mindent megteszünk a hadseregünk megerősítése érdekében” – hangsúlyozta Volodimir Zelenszkij.

A megbeszélés során a felek kiemelt figyelmet fordítottak a fegyver- és lőszerellátás kérdésére. „Kiemeltük Ukrajna légvédelmi rendszere megerősítésének a fontosságát.
