Kovács Emese emlékeztetett arra, hogy 2015 után ideiglenes törvény lépett életbe Svédországban, amely szigorított a korábbi szabályokon. Ez a következő évben hatályát veszti, így Svédország visszatérne a korábbi megengedőbb szabályozáshoz, a közvélemény viszont ezt nem szeretné.
A kormányzó Szociáldemokrata Párt a 2018-as választási kampányban azt ígérte, hogy nem térnek majd vissza a megengedő szabályozáshoz, a svéd parlament azonban nagyon megosztott; kérdéses, sikerül-e a kormánynak megtartania a szigorúbb szabályokat – mondta a kutató, aki szerint a kormány bukását eredményezné, ha nem.
