Boris Johnson brit miniszterelnök szerdán, az ukrán függetlenség napján Kijevbe érkezett, és megbeszélést folytatott Volodimir Zelenszkij elnökkel, a brit kormányfő az orosz invázió kezdete óta harmadszor látogatott az ukrán fővárosba – közölte a korrespondent.net hírportál az elnök Telegram-közlésére hivatkozva.
A jelentés szerint Zelenszkij azt írta: „örülök, hogy a függetlenség napján üdvözölhetem Boris Johnsont, Ukrajna nagy barátját. Boris, köszönöm hazánk megalkuvás nélküli támogatását a teljes körű orosz agresszió első napjaitól kezdve, azt, hogy kitartóan védte Ukrajna érdekeit, hazánk szerencsés, hogy ilyen barátja van!”
A közös sajtótájékoztatón az elnök kijelentette, hogy az ukránok soha nem voltak olyan erősek egy nemzetként és egy államként, mint most. „Amennyire ma lehetséges, a lehető legfüggetlenebbek vagyunk. Úgy gondolom, hogy stabilitásunk és függetlenségünk 30 év óta ma a legkomolyabb állapotban van” – mutatott rá. „Nem volt háború, valahol könnyebb volt az energiaforrásokkal, olcsóbb volt a gáz, az Orosz Föderáció nem állította le a tranzitot stb. De ezek teljesen más dolgok. Az ország geopolitikailag nem volt teljesen egységes. Úgy gondolom, hogy ma több mint 90 százalékunk a háború ellenére teljesen független, tudjuk, hogy Európában akarunk lenni, megértjük, hogy biztonsági garanciákra és szövetségi tagságra van szükségünk, megértjük, hogy azok akarunk lenni Az Orosz Föderáció bármilyen agressziójától függetlenül megértjük, hogy az országnak erős és hatalmas hadsereggel kell rendelkeznie, és készen állunk a függetlenségért való harcra” – hangsúlyozta Zelenszkij.
„Ma ebben a pontban vagyunk. És nagyon fontos, hogy ne veszítsük el. Teljesen függetlenek vagyunk, annak ellenére, hogy területünk 20%-a megszállt. De higgyék el, még ezeken a területeken is vannak erős, független emberek. Erőseknek kell lennünk, hogy kimenjünk a függetlenség napján az ukrán zászlóval az utcára Melitopolban. Várnak ránk. Vissza fogunk térni” – biztosított Volodimir Zelenszkij.
Boris Johnson azt írta a Twitteren: „mindannyiunk számára fontos, ami Ukrajnában történik. Ezért vagyok ma Kijevben. Ezért Nagy-Britannia továbbra is támogatja ukrán barátainkat. A közlés szerint a brit kormányfőnek részt kellett volna vennie a doncasteri csúcson, de az utolsó pillanatban lemondta, és Kijevbe utazott. Johnson be nem jelentett kijevi látogatását Volodimir Zelenszkij elnök is megerősítette. Az államfő videofelvételt tett közzé Telegram-csatornáján, a brit miniszterelnök fogadásáról.

A francia elnök ugyanakkor jelezte, hogy az általa elvárt előfeltételek még nem teljesültek. A szavai szerint a kapcsolatai Volodimir Zelenszkij elnökkel nem romlottak meg az orosz féllel történő kapcsolattartás miatt. „Én voltam az első vezető, aki a két forduló (a 2019-es elnökválasztás) között fogadta őt” – emlékeztetett Emmanuel Macron.

A világhírügynökség szerint a három vezető látogatásának célja az is, hogy „semlegesítsék az ukrán vezetés által irányukban megfogalmazott kritikákat” országaik álláspontjával kapcsolatban az Oroszországgal folytatott háborút illetően. Ezenkívül nem zárható ki, hogy a felek megvitatják az Ukrajnának szállított fegyverek mennyiségének növelésével kapcsolatos kérdéseket is. „Zelenszkij várhatóan arra fogja ösztönözni vendégeit, hogy több fegyvert küldjenek” – állította a médium.

Eduard Heger szlovák miniszterelnök berlini látogatásán felszólította Olaf Scholz kancellárt, hogy támogassa Ukrajna, Grúzia és Moldova európai uniós tagjelölti státuszának megadását, és utazzon Kijevbe – számolt be az Ukrajinszka Pravda hírportál kedden a Politico című amerikai kiadványra hivatkozva.
A jelentés szerint Heger a kancellárral folytatott kétoldalú megbeszélés előtt adott interjújában kijelentette: „meg kell értenünk, hogy a bővítés kötelező. A világnak szüksége van Európára, hogy erős legyen. Miközben országok várnak.” Később azonban a Hegerrel tartott közös sajtótájékoztatón Scholz kerülte az egyértelmű választ Ukrajna tagságjelölti kérelmével kapcsolatban, és csak annyit mondott, „mi EU-ként folytatjuk azt, amit eddig tettünk: egységesen cselekszünk.”
Ugyanakkor a szlovák miniszterelnök egy interjúban kijelentette, hogy Ukrajna vagy más országok hivatalos EU-tagjelöltként való elfogadása csak az első lépés lenne, és minden további előrelépésüknek a tényleges csatlakozásuk felé „az érdemeken kell alapulniuk. „Nem teszünk engedményeket, nem visszük lejjebb a kritériumokat” – mutatott rá. A jelentés szerint Bruno Cassanel, a kijevi ukrán nagykövetség első beosztottja a tévécsatorna megkeresésére elmondta, hogy Macron ukrajnai látogatását június 15-re, szerdára tervezik. A francia elnök moldovai látogatása után érkezik Kijevbe – erősítette meg a francia diplomata.
