A Fehér Ház sajtótitkára, Jen Psaki az Egyesült Államokban tartott sajtótájékoztatóján Dvornikovról azt mondta, felelősnek tartják a „Szíriában tapasztalt atrocitásokért”. Psaki hozzátette, hogy Dvornikov kinevezése csupán annak bizonyítéka, hogy a háborúnak nincs vége.

Kaszim-Zsomart Kemeluli Tokajev Kazahsztán elnöke január 11-én parlamenti felszólalást tervez, melynek célja új politikai folyamat beindítása az országban. Várhatóan új kormány neveznek ki, áll a Kazah Köztársaság ukrajnai nagykövetségének közleményében, számolt be az Ukrinform.
„Január 11-én államfő felszólalása várható a parlamentben. Azzal újraindulhat a politikai folyamat az országban. Új kormány kinevezése várható” – közölte a diplomáciai képviselet.
A kazah diplomaták kiemelték, „nyilvánvaló, hogy Kazahsztán egy új dimenzióba lépett, amelyet még meg kell érteni”. Egyben arról biztosítottak, hogy Kazahsztán követni kívánja az „állam, amely hall” ideológiát, és világosabb mechanizmusokat kíván kiépíteni a hatalom és a lakosság között, „hogy ilyen radikális események többé ne fordulhassanak elő”.
„Tudjuk, hogy a kazahsztáni eseményeket összehasonlítják az ukrán Majdannal és a fehéroroszországi eseményekkel. De mély meggyőződésünk, hogy ezek között az események között nem tehető az egyenlőség jele. A Kazahsztánban történtek egészen más jellegűek” – jelentették ki a nagykövetségen.
A diplomáciai képviselet adatai szerint a közelmúlt eseményeit követően 125 büntetőeljárás indult az országban. „Az állam biztosítja a jogállamiságon alapuló igazságos nyomozást” – közölték a kazah diplomaták.

Az év első rendeletével Volodimir Zelenszkij elnök szombaton Jurij Haluskin dandártábornokot nevezte ki a fegyveres erők területvédelmi erőinek parancsnokává – adta hírül az rbc.ua hírportál az Elnöki Hivatal honlapjára hivatkozva.
A jelentés szerint a kinevezés azzal kapcsolatos, hogy január 1-jén lép hatályba Ukrajnában a nemzeti ellenállás alapjairól szóló törvény. A jogszabálynak megfelelően a területvédelem szervezését és feladatainak végrehajtását tekintve a vezető szerep területvédelmi erőkre hárul.
Az újonnan kinevezett parancsnok, Jurij Haluskin 2001–2002 között részt vett a koszovói nemzetközi békefenntartó műveletekben. 2014 óta résztvevője az ATO-nak, majd az Egyesített Erők Műveletének Donyeck és Luhanszk megyék területén.
Haluskin 2014 júniusától 2015 januárjáig a nagy mobilitású légideszant csapatok parancsnokaként teljesített szolgálatot, amely akkoriban a hadsereg szárazföldi erőinek kötelékébe tartozott. Miután a nagy mobilitású légideszant erők az ukrán fegyveres erők külön haderőnemévé váltak, Haluskint nevezték ki parancsnokhelyettesévé. 2019 decembere óta a Védelmi Minisztérium főfelügyelője, 2020 közepe óta pedig főfelügyelő-helyettese.
A dandártábornokot az Ukrajna állami szuverenitása és területi integritása védelmében mutatott személyes bátorságáért és magas szakmai felkészültségéért, a katonai eskühöz való hűségéért a Bogdan Hmelnickij érdemrend II. és III. fokozatával tüntették ki.

Új koalíciós kormánya van Csehországnak. A Petr Fiala kormányfő vezette kabinet minisztereit pénteken a Prágától nyugatra fekvő Lányban, a cseh elnökök vidéki rezidenciáján nevezte ki Miloš Zeman államfő.
Az ötpárti kormánynak 18 tagja van, hárommal több, mint az előző kabinetnek.
A kormány 16 minisztere azonnal kinevezése után letette az alkotmány által előírt esküt. A hivatalos aktusról hiányzott az agrárminiszter-jelölt, Zdenek Nekula, aki jelenleg karanténban van, ezért kinevezésére csak a jövő héten kerülhet sor.
Az ötpárti koalíciós kormányban a Polgári Demokratikus Párt (ODS) adja a kormányfőt és öt minisztert, míg a KDU-CSL-nek három, a TOP 09 Pártnak két, a Polgármesterek és Függetlenek Pártnak (STAN) négy, a Kalózpártnak pedig három minisztere van.
