 A tudósítás szerint Zelenszkij elmondta: „Jelenleg és Ukrajna az ENSZ Alapokmányának céljait és alapelveit védi. Ezért most és pontosan Ukrajnában dől el, mi lesz az ENSZ jövője és mi lesz az ENSZ globális szerepe.”
 Ezenkívül az elnök személyesen mondott köszönetet Guterresnek, csapatának és mindenkinek az ENSZ-ben, aki megérti az egyetemes értékek és a nemzetközi rend védelmének szükségességét. Zelenszkij megjegyezte, hogy az ENSZ Közgyűlés tagállamainak túlnyomó többsége nemrégiben jóváhagyta az Ukrajna és a partnerországok által javasolt, „az ENSZ Alapokmányának alapelvei az átfogó, igazságos és fenntartható ukrajnai békét megalapozó” határozatot.
  „Hálás vagyok António Guterresnek, amiért egyértelműen elítélte az orosz agressziót, mint az ENSZ Alapokmányának súlyos megsértését. Ma reményemet fejeztem ki, hogy főtitkár úr személyes vezetése segít határozatunk végrehajtásában, ami az ENSZ-főtitkár megbízatása.  Kijevben az ENSZ főtitkára találkozik Volodimir Zelenszkijjel. A tárgyalásainak fő témája várhatóan a gabonaszerződés folytatása lesz.
 A hírportál emlékeztetett rá, hogy Oroszország teljes körű agressziójának kezdete óta ez lesz a harmadik látogatása az ENSZ-főtitkárnak Ukrajnában. A Reuters hírügynökség jelentése szerint Ukrajna tárgyalásokat kezdett a gabonakezdeményezés folytatásáról. Ugyanakkor a partnerek kommunikálnak Oroszországgal is. A megállapodás 2023. március 18-án jár le. Várhatóan Ukrajna kérni fogja a feleket, hogy hosszabbítsák meg a kezdeményezést még legalább egy évvel.
