Joe Biden amerikai elnök aláírta szöuli látogatása alatt az Ukrajnának nyújtandó, új, 40 milliárd dolláros segélyről szóló törvényt, ez az adomány is része Ukrajna katonai támogatásának az orosz invázióval szemben, közölték meg nem nevezett tisztségviselők hírügynökségekkel.



A törvényt a kongresszus két háza kétpárti támogatással hozta meg. A segély a szeptemberig tartó időszakra szól, és jóval nagyobb, mint a korábbi, 13,6 milliárd dolláros gyorssegély. A 40 milliárdból 20 milliárd fegyver és hadianyag, nyolcmilliárd általános gazdasági támogatás, ötmilliárd élelmiszersegély, egymilliárdot a menekültek megsegítésére szánnak, a többit nem részletezték.



Az AP hírügynökség szerint a törvényt Biden a Dél-Koreába tartó repülőgépén írta alá, ami szokatlan, az ügy sürgősségére utal.



Az ukrán fél megjegyzi, hogy ezeket a forrásokat Ukrajna támogatására fordítják, hogy a katonai segélynyújtás zavartalanul folytatódjon a földbérleti program beindításáig.
