Az ausztrál kormány április 27-én 100 millió ausztrál dollár (65 millió dollár) értékű új segélycsomagot jelentett be Ukrajnának, miután Denisz Smihal miniszterelnök és Richard Marles ausztrál védelmi miniszter Lembergben tárgyalt egymással – írja a The Kyiv Independent.
Az ausztrál kormány szerint ezzel a csomaggal országuk Ukrajnának nyújtott katonai támogatása 880 millió ausztrál dollárra (575 millió dollárra) emelkedik.
Smihal elmondta, hogy a legújabb csomag felét a hordozható légvédelmi rendszerekre (Manpads) fordítják.
További 30 millió ausztrál dollárt (19,6 millió dollár) az Ukrajnának szánt nemzetközi drónkoalícióra fordítanak, amelynek célja Ukrajna pilóta nélküli légi járművekből (UAV) álló arzenáljának megerősítése – jelentette ki.
Marles örömmel jelentette be az újabb tétel katonai támogatást, amely „a világ vezető dróntechnológiáját tartalmazza, a helyi ausztrál védelmi ipar támogatásával”.
Ausztrália kritikus fontosságú levegő-föld precíziós lőszereket és rövid hatótávolságú légvédelmi rendszereket is biztosít – tette hozzá Marles.
