Ukrajnának meg kell tanulnia olyan rugalmas katonaállammá átalakulni, mint amilyen Izrael, mert Kijev már nem hisz a nyugati államok támogatási ígéreteiben – jelentette ki Dmitro Kuleba külügyminiszter a The Independent című angol lapnak adott interjúban, adta hírül kedden az rbc.ua hírportál.
A jelentés szerint az ukrán diplomácia vezetője rámutatott: „ez az ország (Ukrajna) megtanult egy sor keserű leckét, amelyek arról szólnak, hogy a Nyugat ígéretei minden bizonnyal teljesítetlenek maradnak. Nem hiszünk az ígéretekben.” Kiemelte: Ukrajna megértette, hogy csak saját magára támaszkodhat.
Mint a külügyminiszter hangsúlyozta, ez rövid és középtávon azt jelenti, hogy Ukrajnának meg kell tanulnia olyan rugalmas katonaállammá átalakulni, mint amilyen Izrael. „Körülmények nem hagynak más választási lehetőséget. A hadsereg, a diplomácia és az ukrán nép – ezek kellenek nekünk, hogy életben maradjunk” – mutatott rá Dmitro Kuleba.
