Az Európai Unió (EU) nem adhatja fel a belarusz kormányellenes tüntetők támogatását – jelentette ki egy vasárnap esti Twitter-üzenetében Emmanuel Macron francia elnök. Olaf Scholz német alkancellár, pénzügyminiszter pedig egy interjúban népe támogatását elvesztő diktátornak nevezte Alekszandr Lukasenko belarusz elnököt.



„Az Európai Uniónak továbbra is aktívan támogatnia kell azt a több százezer embert, aki békésen tüntet Belaruszban jogai, szabadsága és szuverenitása tiszteletben tartásáért”– írta Macron.



Olaf Scholz német alkancellár, aki a Német Szociáldemokrata Párt (SPD) kancellárjelöltje lesz a 2021-es szövetségi parlamenti választásokon, élő interjút adott a Bild című újság honlapjának. A belarusz elnökről kijelentette: „Egy ilyen diktátorral csak egyértelműen és határozottan lehet beszélni. Meggyőződésem, hogy ennek az elnöknek már nincs semmilyen legitimitása, különben nem kormányozna ilyen hihetetlen és kegyetlen erővel” – tette hozzá.



Arra a kérdésre, hogy szerinte miként lehet elkerülni Oroszország intervencióját a belarusz válságba, óva intette Moszkvát attól, hogy beavatkozzon Lukasenko hatalmának fenntartása érdekében. Azt mondta: „A katonai beavatkozás idegen államokban elfogadhatatlan, és ellentmond minden szabálynak, amelyet megszabtunk magunknak a nemzetközi jogban.”



Lukasenko egy vasárnapi minszki gyűlésen leszögezte: nem hajlandó külföldi parancsra új választást kiírni, de kész azonnali reformokra, ha ezt várják tőle az emberek. Délután folytatódott a rezsim elleni tüntetés a fővárosban, egyes becslések szerint akár 200 ezren is lehettek a demonstrálók. Ezt megelőzően Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnök telefonbeszélgetésükben biztosította Lukasenkót arról, hogy Moszkva szükség esetén kész katonai segítséget nyújtani neki.
