Cleverley kijelentette, a Hamász jelenti a legnagyobb veszélyt a palesztinokra nézve.
„Kórházakban és iskolákban bujkálnak, nőket és gyerekeket használnak emberi pajzsként. Bármely civil ember halála egy tragédia. Akár palesztinok, akár izraeliek halnak meg, a Hamász a halálesetek oka” – mondta.
Ezt megelőzően a német külügyminisztérium vezetője, Annalena Berbock is hasonlóképpen nyilatkozott: hangsúlyozta, hogy a Hamász „túszul ejtette Gáza teljes lakosságát”.

A világ nem engedheti meg, hogy Oroszország Ukrajna elleni háborúja még 500 napig elhúzódjon, ezért Oroszországnak azonnal ki kell vonnia csapatait Ukrajna területéről – jelentette ki James Cleverley, Nagy-Britannia külügyminisztere az ENSZ Biztonsági Tanácsának ülésén, számolt be kedden az rbc.ua hírportál az Ukrinform hírügynökségre hivatkozva.
A jelentés szerint a brit diplomácia vezetője hangsúlyozta: „Nem engedhetjük meg, hogy ez a háború további 500 napig tartson.” Hozzátette, hogy az ENSZ Közgyűlése rendszeresen békére szólítja fel Oroszországot az ENSZ Alapokmányának elvei alapján. „Zelenszkij elnök tízpontos terve megmutatta az előrevezető utat. Ukrajna békét akar. Mi békét akarunk. Az egész világ békét akar” – mutatott rá.
A brit miniszter hangsúlyozta: a nemzetközi közösség tisztességes és tartós békét akar, ezért az Orosz Föderációnak már most ki kell vonnia csapatait Ukrajnából. „Putyin úr, vigye haza csapatait, most fejezze be ezt a háborút!” – szólította fel az orosz diktátort James Cleverley.

A jelentés szerint a brit diplomácia vezetője azt mondta: Vlagyimir Putyin orosz diktátor megpróbált olyan narratívát alkotni, amely szerint a NATO-tagországok fenyegetik Oroszországot. „A NATO világossá tette, hogy védelmi szövetség vagyunk. A NATO soha nem fenyegette Oroszországot, és most sem fenyegeti” – mutatott rá.
A brit külügyminiszter hangsúlyozta, hogy a NATO-hoz csatlakozó országok ezt önként teszik, erre senki nem kényszeríti őket. Az Észak-atlanti Szövetség azért létezik, hogy megvédje a tagállamait, nem pedig azért, hogy másokat fenyegessen – tette hozzá. Mint megjegyezte: nincs belső igény arra, hogy a NATO belekeveredjen a konfliktusba, és valójában mindent megtesznek annak megakadályozása érdekében, hogy ez megtörténjen.
„Végső soron Vlagyimir Putyin az, aki kirívó nyelvezetet használ. Ő az, aki további birodalmi terjeszkedéssel fenyegetett, arra hivatkozva, hogy a történelmi orosz birodalomra összpontosít. Tehát ő az agresszor” – szögezte le James Cleverley.
