A külügyminiszter kiemelte azt is, hogy az apostoli nuncius Külügyminisztérium általi bekéretése „példátlan, és magáért beszél”. „Őszintén megmondom, hogy az ukrán szív a pápa szavaitól szakad meg. A kijelentése igazságtalan volt” – mutatott rá Dmitro Kuleba.
A hírportál emlékeztetett arra, hogy Moszkva külvárosában felrobbantották azt a Land Cruiser autót, amelyet Darja Dugina, Alekszandr Dugin filozófusnak, az „orosz világ” főideológusának a lánya vezetett. Erre reagálva Ferenc pápa – Kijev haragját kiváltva – azt mondta, „a szegény nőre gondol, akit az autója ülése alá helyezett bombával robbantottak fel Moszkvában. Az ártatlanok fizetnek a háborúért”.
