Az ukrán fegyveres erők légierejének jelenleg öt dandárja van Szu-27 és MiG-29 vadászgépekből – jelentette ki Jurij Ihnat, az ukrán fegyveres erők légierő-parancsnokának sajtószóvivője egy televíziós műsorban, számolt be az rbc.ua hírportál.
A jelentés szerint Ihnat a Kijev tévécsatornának nyilatkozva elmondta: „Történelmi lépés ez, ilyen típusú fegyverek szállítása Ukrajnának (MiG-29-esek Lengyelországból – a szerk.). Ma három dandárunk van ilyen repülőgépekből. De öt vadászdandárunk van: két Szu-27-es és három – MiG-29-es. Ezek negyedik generációs régi szovjet vadászgépek, amelyek erkölcsileg és fizikailag elavultak.”
A szóvivő szerint ilyen típusú fegyverek átadása Ukrajnának első lépés, jel más országok számára. „Ez mások számára annak a jele, hogy meg kell tenni a második és a harmadik lépést. Mit jelentenek a következő lépések? Korszerű, fejlett repülőgépek átadása” – hangsúlyozta Jurij Ihnat.
