Emmanuel Macron francia elnök biztonsági megfontolásokból elhalasztotta ukrajnai látogatását, az utazásnak február 13-14-én kellett volna megtörténnie – számolt be vasárnap az rbc.ua hírportál a Challenges című francia kiadványra hivatkozva.
A jelentés szerint az Elysee-palota bejelentette, hogy Macron látogatását biztonsági okokból elhalasztották. Mint a francia kiadvány írta, egy ilyen döntés számos kérdést vetett fel mind a francia, mind az ukrán diplomatákban.
A Medef International francia-ukrán üzleti szövetség is lemondta az ukrajnai látogatást. A Challenges megjegyezte, hogy Macronnak először Odesszába, majd Kijevbe kellett volna látogatnia. A francia elnöknek be kellett jelentenie egy 200 millió eurós alap létrehozását is, amelyet adományok formájában civil projektekre fizetnek ki.
Emellett Macron várhatóan hivatalosan is bejelenti a Francia Fejlesztési Ügynökség (AFD) megérkezését az Ukrajnának nyújtott francia segélyek koordinátoraként.

A jelentés szerint a kiadvány több fehér házi forrásra hivatkozva azt írta: „jelenleg Biden nem tervezi, hogy Kijevbe látogatását, elsősorban a biztonsági fenyegetések miatt.”
A lap emlékeztetett arra, hogy a múlt héten Biden megbeszélést folytatott Volodimir Zelenszkij elnökkel, aki felszólította amerikai kollégáját, hogy folytassa Ukrajna légvédelmének a támogatását. Mindkét ország fővárosában egyre nagyobb aggodalomra ad okot, hogy mi várható a háború következő szakaszában.
