Oroszország állandó ENSZ-képviselője, Vaszilij Nyebenzja az António Guterresnek írott levelében azt írta, az 56 fős küldöttség még egyetlen tagja sem kapta meg az Egyesült Államokba való beutazáshoz szükséges vízumot.



Hozzátette, hasonló a helyzet a Szergej Lavrovot kísérni hivatott újságírókkal és a személyzet tagjaival is.



Lavrov vezetné az orosz delegációt a szeptember 20. és 26. között tartandó ENSZ-közgyűlésen.



Nyebenzja megjegyezte, Washington korábban is megtagadta olyan orosz küldöttek vízumkérelmét, akik ENSZ-eseményeken kívántak volna részt venni.
