Szeptember 5-én Ungváron találkozott Volodimir Zelenszkij és Robert Fico. Az ukrán államfő és a szlovák kormányfő között ez volt az első ilyen formátumú találkozó.
Ungváron kezdődött Volodimir Zelenszkij, ukrán államfő kárpátaljai villámlátogatása. Az elnök itt találkozott az Ukrajnát a világban képviselő diplomáciai kirendeltségek vezetőivel. A rendezvény fő célja az volt, hogy a nagykövetek közelebb hozzák Ukrajna győzelmét a háborúban, úgy, hogy közben minél több ország támogatását nyerik el. Zelenszkij öt fő üzenetet fogalmazott meg számukra. A kárpátaljai megyevezetéssel tartott értekezleten Zelenszkij megvitatta a biztonsági és szociális helyzettel kapcsolatos kérdéseket, de szó esett arról is, hogy Kárpátalja az ukrán gazdasági és társadalmi növekedés egyik motorja lesz Zelenszkij ezt követően Beregszászba látogatott, ahol már akárpátaljai magyarság képviselőivel találkozott, és, amitfontos megbeszélésnek nevezett. Az ukrán elnök köszönetet mondott a magyar közösségnek a háborúban tanúsított hozzáállásáért, és a belső menekültek ellátásáért. Az elnök az egyik korábbi újévi televíziós beszédében magyarul is köszöntötte a beregszászi magyarokat. A házigazda, Babják Zoltán polgármester szerint ezt az utat kell folytatni a nemzetiségi kérdésekben is. A kárpátaljai magyarok szerint fontos, hogy az ukrán elnök tisztában legyen a kárpátaljai magyarság problémáival. Orosz Ildikó, a Kárpátaljai Magyar Pedagógusszövetség elnöke, miután nem kapott szót, írásban adta át a kisebbségi oktatásra vonatkozó javaslatait. Zelenszkij egész napos munkalátogatásról előzetesen nem tájékoztatták a nyilvánosságot, és a sajtó is csak helyenkéntvehetett rajta részt.

Volodimir Zelenszkij ukrán államfő meghívására Kijevbe látogatott ma Novák Katalin köztársasági elnök. A magyar államfő az ukrán fővárosban részt vett egy a legszegényebb országokat célzó gabonaexportról szóló nemzetközi csúcstalálkozón, továbbá az 1932-33-as ukrajnai éhínség áldozatainak emléknapján is. Novák Katalin Kijevben tartott sajtótájékoztatóján kiemelte: Magyarországon a háború kezdete óta 1 millió ukrán talált menedéket, akik számára országunk, egyebek mellett – orvosi ellátást, oktatást és gyermeküdültetést is garantál. Ezen felül pedig további 187 millió eurós anyagi támogatásban is részesül Budapesttől Kijev. Az államfő hangsúlyozta: 2022 a háború éve volt, és reméli, hogy 2023 pedig a békéé lesz.
