Elon Musk, a SpaceX vezérigazgatója az elmúlt negyedévben 75 millió dollárt adományozott egy Donald Trump elnökválasztási kampányát támogató szervezetnek − derült ki egy friss kampányfinanszírozási jelentésből.
A szövetségi választási bizottsághoz kedden késő este benyújtott jelentés szerint Elon Musk volt az egyetlen, aki ennek a szervezetnek pénzt adományozott.
A csoport nyár óta működik, korábban más Trump-párti szervezetekhez is érkeztek nagyobb összegek, így nem az X vezére az egyetlen, aki a republikánus jelöltet támogatja − írta meg a Politico.
Donald Trump esélyeit növeli az ezektől a csoportoktól kapott támogatás, ugyanis saját kampányfinanszírozása az elmúlt két hónapban jóval elmaradt a 2020-as szinttől. Augusztus közepe és szeptember vége között 65,8 millió dollárt költött, amelyből mintegy hatvan ment el az elnökválasztásra. Ezért különösen rászorul Elon Musk támogatására, főleg a júliusi merénylet óta.
A csoport a csatatérállamokban segíti a további szavazatszerzési lehetőséget, valamint a SpaceX vezérigazgatója is részt vesz a kampányban. Megjelent Butlerben is, ahol a merénylet történt, valamint Elon Musk a Pennsylvaniai Egyetemre járt. Emellett 47 millió dollárt költött arra, hogy segítsen még szavazókat találni a republikánus jelölt számára.
