Donald Trump amerikai elnök kampánytörzse véletlenül tévesen jelölte meg a választás napját a Facebookon közzétett egyik hirdetésében – jelentette szerdán az amerikai közszolgálati rádió (NPR) megjegyezve, hogy a Facebook el is távolította a reklámot.

A reklámok az úgynevezett ingadozó, vagy csatatér-államokban jelentek meg kedden, azt hirdetve, hogy ez a nap a választások napja. A reklámokban a Szavazzatok ma és a Ma van a választások napja szövegű üzenetek jelentek meg. A választások egyébként a jövő héten, november 3-án lesznek.
A Facebook adatai szerint mintegy 200 ezren látták a hirdetést, elsősorban Floridában, Arizonában és Georgiában. A közösségi platform néhány óra elteltével eltávolította az üzeneteket arra hivatkozva, hogy megsértették a hamis információkra vonatkozó szabályozást.
Egyelőre nem derült ki, hogy a Trump-kampány véletlenül tette-e közzé a reklámokat, vagy megpróbálta előzetesen regisztráltatni a platformon, de a Facebook belső, adminisztratív hibája miatt került nyilvánosságra.
Az újraválasztására készülő republikánus elnök kampánya nem kommentálta a hibát.
A Facebook egy hónappal ezelőtt jelentette be, hogy már betilt mindenfajta politikai reklámot a választások előtt egy héttel és a választásokat követő héten is.
