 Jack Reed, a fegyveres erők bizottságának elnöke szintén aggodalmát fejezte ki az ügyben. Bár szerinte nagyon pozitív fejlődés, hogy a SpaceX csökkenti az internethez történő hozzáférés költségeit, de nem lehet övék az utolsó szó, ha a nemzetbiztonságról van szó.
 Nemrég derült ki, hogy Elon Musk meghiúsított egy ukrán drónhajós támadást az orosz flotta ellen, mivel nem kapcsolta be a Starlink műholdas kommunikációs rendszert, amelyre a drónok működéséhez szükség lett volna.
