A jelentés szerint a kiadvány arról számolt be, hogy a NATO hírszerzése jelentést küldött a szövetségeseknek, amely a Belgorod orosz tengeralattjáró mozgására hivatkozik. Ez a Poseidon hordozója.
Mint a lap megállapított, az elmúlt napokban a Belgorod gyakran szerepel az Északi Áramlat gázvezetékek elleni szabotázs elemzésében, mivel ez az egyik tevékenységi terület, amelyre tervezték. A NATO hírszerzése azonban azt állítja, hogy az orosz tengeralattjáró soha nem hagyta el a Fehér-tengert, és most a Kara-tengeren készül teszteket végrehajtani a „végítélet fegyverével”.
Oroszországban évek óta beszélnek a Poseidon létrehozásáról. Egyes nyugati országok nem hittek a létezésében. 2015-ben azonban Vlagyimir Putyin orosz diktátor megerősítette ennek a fegyvernek a kifejlesztését. A Belgorod tengeralattjáró a nukleáris szupertorpedó hordozója. Orosz adatok szerint továbbfejlesztették, hogy olyan mélységben is működjön, ahová a NATO-tengeralattjárók nem tudnak eljutni. 120 napot tölthet a víz alatt.
A Poseidon koncepcióját az új háború mintájának tekintik. Egy nukleáris robbanófejjel ellátott torpedó 10 000 kilométert képes megtenni a hullámok alatt. A tengerpartba becsapódva az atomrobbanásával radioaktív szökőárt okozhat, és a keletkező hullám olyan megavárosokat törölhet el a föld felszínéről, mint New York vagy Los Angeles.
