 A jelentés szerint az újság azt írta, Macron több kezdeményezést is felvetett az orosz elnökkel folytatott megbeszélése során. „Így javaslatot tett Ukrajna semleges státuszának a rögzítésére, kizárva ezzel a NATO-csatlakozás lehetőségét” – állította a lap.
 A kiadvány szerint Macron javaslatai ugyanakkor korábban nem kapták meg Párizs észak-atlanti szövetségesei, köztük Nagy-Britannia jóváhagyását. Még a NATO-partnerekkel sem egyeztetett.
 Az újság által megszólaltatott forrás azt mondta: „Macron el van foglalva a saját dolgaival, nem tudjuk, mi történik. Túllépett a NATO álláspontján. De ez érdekes.”
 Mint hírportálunk tegnap beszámolt róla, a The Financial Times című brit lap azt írta, Emmanuel Macron francia és Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnök megállapodást kötött az Ukrajna körüli feszültség csökkentéséről, de a Kreml várja ezeknek a feltételeknek a jóváhagyását Washingtontól.
