Finnország Védelmi Minisztériuma bejelentette, hogy határozott lépéseket tesz a külföldiek által kötött ingatlanügyletek felülvizsgálatára, illetve szükség esetén azok érvénytelenítésére. A döntés elsősorban azokra vonatkozik, akik nem tagjai az Európai Uniónak vagy az Európai Gazdasági Térségnek, különösen az orosz állampolgárokra.
Helsinki hatóságai hivatalosan elismerték, hogy bizonyos személyek ingatlanhoz való hozzáférése közvetlen állami biztonsági kockázatot jelenthet. A védelmi minisztérium vezetője, Antti Häkkänen hangsúlyozta a stratégiai jelentőségű ingatlanok fokozott ellenőrzésének szükségességét.
A legvitatottabb része az intézkedésnek az ügyletek „visszamenőleges” felülvizsgálatának lehetősége. A finn kormány jogi mechanizmusokat vizsgál, amelyek lehetővé tennék a lakó- és földingatlan-ügyletek áttekintését az elmúlt két évtizedből. Häkkänen szerint ez minden típusú ingatlanra kiterjedne, így az állam hatékonyabban reagálhat a korábban figyelmen kívül hagyott potenciális kockázatokra.

A korlátozás 2024-ig lesz érvényben. Az ország parlamentje emellett felfüggesztette új vízumok kiadását az Oroszországi Föderáció és Fehéroroszország állampolgárai számára.
Április 4-én, a litván szejm jóváhagyta a döntést, miszerint tekintettel a nemzetbiztonsági kockázatokra megtiltja az orosz állampolgároknak, hogy ingatlant vásároljanak az országban, számolt be a Reuters ügynökség.
A korlátozás 2024-ig lesz érvényben, és nem érinti azokat az oroszokat, akik Litván tartózkodási engedéllyel rendelkeznek.
A parlament egyben felfüggesztette az új vízumok kiadását Oroszország és Fehéroroszország állampolgárai számára.
Emellett a korábban kiadott vízummal rendelkező oroszok és fehéroroszok „egyéni kibővített ellenőrzésen” esnek át a határon.
