Negyvenmilliárd dán koronás (5,47 milliárd dollár) beruházást fordítanak új hadihajók beszerzésére – jelentette be Dánia.
A beruházás a tengeri biztonságot hivatott növelni, amely az ukrajnai orosz háború következtében ingott meg. Dánia NATO-tagország, és mint ilyen, a GDP két százalékát kell védelmi kiadásokra költenie – az ország ennek igyekszik megfelelni.
A vásárlásokat a következő húsz-huszonöt évben esedékes beruházások keretein belül tervezi végrehajtani a védelmi minisztérium. Dánia kormányának célja az ország hadihajóinak a fejlesztése, ezért felhívást intéztek az ország tengerészeti iparához. Erre azért van szükség, mert a beruházások egyes részei hosszú időbe telnek, ezért kéri a hajóipar segítségét – írja a Reuters.
Oroszország Ukrajna elleni támadása és az új európai biztonsági helyzet miatt fontosabb, mint valaha, hogy Dánia képes legyen megvédeni magát. A tengeri ellátás biztonsága ebben döntő szerepet játszik – mondta Morten Bodskov védelmi miniszter közleményében.
Dánia ígéretet tett arra, hogy 2033-ra fokozatosan addig növeli a védelmi kiadásait, amíg eléri a GDP-nek a két százalékát: ez NATO-tagként a kötelezettsége is.
