Az Európai Parlament képviselői felszólították a Nemzetközi Büntetőbíróságot, hogy fontolja meg elfogatóparancs kiadásának lehetőségét Fehéroroszország önjelölt elnöke, Aljakszandr Lukasenka ellen – áll az Európai Parlament külügyi bizottsága által kedden jóváhagyott, az EU Fehéroroszországgal fenntartott kapcsolatairól szóló jelentésében, számolt be a Jevropejszka Pravda a parlament sajtószolgálatára hivatkozva.
A képviselők kijelentették, hogy Fehéroroszország felelős a háború által Ukrajnának okozott károkért, és az országban elkövetett bűncselekményekért, beleértve a fehérorosz rezsim szerepét a gyermekek illegális elszállításában.
A jelentés felszólítja az uniós intézményeket és a tagállamokat, hogy nemzetközi szinten tegyenek meg minden szükséges intézkedést annak érdekében, hogy az emberiesség elleni bűncselekményekért és a népirtásért felelős fehérorosz politikai és katonai vezetők ellen vádemelésre kerüljön sor.
A képviselők hangsúlyozzák: mivel a Nemzetközi Büntetőbíróság már elfogatóparancsot adott ki Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnök és Maria Lvova-Belova gyermekjogi biztos ellen, a bíróságnak mérlegelnie kell Lukasenka ellen is hasonló elfogatóparancs kiadásának lehetőségét.
A képviselők úgy vélik, hogy az EU Tanácsának ki kellene bővítenie az uniós szankciók hatálya alá tartozó fehérorosz és orosz személyek listáját is, hogy korlátozások vonatkozzanak az ukrán gyerekek erőszakos evakuálásában érintettekre is. Emellett a képviselők felszólították az EU-t, hogy dolgozzon ki stratégiát Fehéroroszország függetlenségének és demokratikus átmenetének megőrzésére.
