 Az ukrán diplomácia vezetője az interjúban sajnálkozva mutatott rá, hogy az európai uniós csatlakozási határidőt már rég ki kellett volna jelölni Ukrajna számára. „Szeretném jelezni a NATO-val kapcsolatban, hogy a 2008-as bukaresti csúcson a szövetséges országok ígéretet tettek. Már eltelt 13 esztendő, és az elnökünk megismételte a szándékunkat, ám nem hallottunk pozitív reagálást” – mondta. De ismeretes, hogy a tagságra törekszünk, így továbbra is ki fogunk tartani e mellett – hangsúlyozta.
 Kuleba megjegyezte, hogy Antony Blinken amerikai külügyminiszter közelmúltban tett kijevi látogatásán nem ígérte, hogy Ukrajna ebben vagy a következő évben NATO-taggá válik, de arról biztosított, hogy ez meg fog történni. „Blinken ismételten biztosított minket, hogy az USA elkötelezett a 2008-as döntés mellett, amelyben világosan ki van mondva, hogy Ukrajna és Grúzia – akkor erről a két országról volt szó – NATO-tagok lesznek, és hogy mi a barátainkkal és partnereinkkel ezen fogunk dolgozni” – emlékeztetett az ukrán diplomácia vezetője.
